I have been Kiteboarding for 3.5 years now (December 2011) and am extremely passionate about this sport. 

It's got to be one of the most amazing sports and very addictive. 

Anyone can kiteboard. It doesn't matter how old you are. In fact I think the oldest kiteboarder is 88 years old.

When starting out I recommend you get second hand equipment.

I started out with a new board, 11 sq.metre second hand Slingshot Bow kite and a new harness for only R7,000.00

In 2010 I invested in all new equipment -  Fone Bandit 4 kites, new twin tip board and new harness. Very happy with my choice.

Another good range of kites is Flexifoil and their boards.

Another plus factor is all the cool people you meet who kiteboard. I have met amazing people throughout the world on my kiteboarding trips.

I have kiteboarded in the following destinations:

KZN Natal; La Mercy Lagoon, Amatikulu, Midmar Dam, Umdloti beach, La Lucia Beach and Kite Beach in Durban.

In the Cape: Langebaan

Overseas: Los Roques an island off Venezuela, Zanzibar and Seychelles
